Starving orangutans are being rescued from a forest after…

Starving orangutans are being rescued from a forest after bulldozers destroyed their home. Among those saved from the brink of death were a pregnant female and a mother and baby who refused to let go of each other during the horrific ordeal. The orangutans were found clinging to the last few remaining trees when the Indonesian forest they were living in was bulldozed to make way for an palm oil plantation.

Rescued California sea lion pups rest at the Pacific Marine Mammal Centre in Laguna Beach, California. The centre has been overwhelmed by the number of severely malnourished and dehydrated pups coming to shore along the Orange County coastline.

This is Charlie, a green male Eclectus parrot, who was rescued by Rebecca Blagg. He now lives with her in Eastwood, Notts. The parrot had been almost starved to death and had plucked out his own feathers in desperation. Rebecca has knitted Charlie a jumper to help him keep warm.
