A cure for baldness might be able to borrow from how dogs’ winter coats come in.
The hair growth is triggered by hormones and signals coming from elsewhere in the body.
Those signals vary with the seasons.
A researcher said:
“The hair-follicle stem cell is not only listening to the voice in the stem cell, but also the voice from outside.”
So instead of using stem cells, they may be able to alter the environment around the hair follicles that allows them to receive the outside signals.
“This extra follicle-affecting factor has disappeared during human evolution.
To deal with the hair growth, you not only try to help the stem cell, but you can improve the ‘soil,’ like — You put a tulip bulb in a nicer soil, you will grow a nicer hair.”
So not only are dogs cute, but they could help bald men to get their hair back!
